Size Restrictions

There are various size limits for sending and receiving mails that you should be aware of.

If you are a BSc or MSc student then your mail is in Exchange Online and the information below does not apply to you. Instead use the instructions for client setup here and access to web mail here.


All mailboxes have a mail quota. You current quota and usage can be checked using these instructions.

Depending on how large your mailbox has become with respect to the quota the following will happen:

Threshold Students (200MB) Members (5GB) Action when limit reached
Warning 180MB 4.6GB A daily warning mail is sent to you informing you that your mailbox is practically full.
Sending 200MB 5.1GB You cannot send mail anymore until you clean up.
Receiving 400MB 7GB You cannot receive mail anymore.

Mail Size

Mails cannot exceed 20MB size.

Mail Count

A single user cannot send more than 500 mails per day.
