Wireless Network
Wireless network (WIFI or WLAN) is available in all ETH buildings and provided directly from ITS. Authentication is always required for access.Login
The login to use is different depending on your relation to ETH and where you want to connect to:- <your ETH user name>@staff-net.ethz.ch if you are a staff member such as professors, assistants, post-docs and technical staff)
- <your ETH user name>@student-net.ethz.ch if you are a student
- <your ETH user name>@guest-net.ethz.ch if you are a guest

eduroam
The eduroam SSID is the recommended SSID. eduroam allows you to get WIFI access at a variety of places, for instance the University of Zurich.
Guests from other universities from all over the world can use the SSID
eduroam with their own credentials. Check here to see which other organizations are using Eduroam. In this case no ETH specific guest account would be needed for simple Internet access only.
eth-5 and eth
The eth-5 and eth SSIDs can alternatively be used if devices have problems with eduroam-5 and eduroam, e.g. in offices in range of USZ buildings who also have these SSIDs.
eth-visitors
The eth-visitors SSID is for guests who want to connect to the Internet. Access to the ETH network is restricted.
Students and and staff of ETH can also connect to this SSID and instead of logging in use VPN to get full network access.
