Communication

Depending on urgency, severity and target audience we use one of the following communication channels.

Website

Status information on non-critical incidents or news from our side can typically be found in the news section of our website.

Mailing Lists

The bulk of our communication is sent through the mailing lists of the department, in particular the IT Coordinators mailing list.

SMS and External Mail

isginf also maintains a lists of cellular phone numbers (for sending SMS only) and private mail addresses to reach people even when the relevant ETH infrastructure is non-functional.

Professors and ITCs can choose to provide either or both. Both are only used during emergencies that require immediate attention. SMS are not sent between 23:30 and 06:00.
